Mahalaxmi Saras 2025: Enabling Safe, Empowered Exhibitions

From February 11–23, 2025, the Mahalaxmi Saras Exhibition transformed Mumbai’s BKC Grounds into a vibrant hub of rural entrepreneurship. Inaugurated by CM Devendra Fadnavis, the event showcased over 500 stalls run by self-help group (SHG) women from across the country—offering handcrafted textiles, food, home décor, and more.

Enabling Safe, Empowered Exhibitions

Aimed at creating 2.5 million 'Lakhpati Didis', the fair also marked the state’s announcement of new ‘Umed Malls’ to support women entrepreneurs year-round.  As the Safe Events Partner in collaboration with Pavilion & Interiors Pvt. Ltd., Enjin Experiences / Eventz Genie played a critical role in ensuring that this large-scale government event was executed with the highest standards of public safety, hygiene, and infrastructure preparedness.  Over the 14-day fair, more than 3 lakh visitors attended, averaging over 20,000 per day. Eventz Genie managed crowd control, crowd movement, and visitor safety end-to-end. With over ₹25 crore in total stall sales, a cooperative bank was present on-site for transaction support, and Eventz Genie secured all merchandise and cash handling operations.

The team deployed 50+ trained male and female security personnel, equipped with handheld and door-frame metal detectors. 182 CCTV cameras were installed and monitored around the clock to ensure surveillance coverage across the entire venue. Special permissions were obtained from MMRDA and local police for lighting, electrification, and round-the-clock patrolling.

A particularly critical zone was the food court, featuring 80 live-cooking stalls. Eventz Genie managed the installation of temporary Maharashtra Gas piped lines to 160 gas points, along with PESO-approved gas leak detection kits. Permissions from the Fire Department were secured, and two fire trucks, including one stationed 24/7, were present throughout the event. Fire marshals and a medical ambulance were also on standby, responding swiftly to any incidents, including a few minor medical cases that were immediately attended to by the doctor on duty.

To support the basic infrastructure of the fair, 20,000 liters of water were made available daily for drinking and sanitation. Safe and hygienic toilets with septic tanks were installed and cleaned daily. Non-food hangars were fully air-conditioned, ensuring visitor comfort despite the warm February climate.

This event was held under CM Protocol, with dignitaries including Deputy CM Fadnavis, cabinet ministers, and several IAS officers in attendance. Eventz Genie also managed VIP movement corridors, further emphasizing the importance of structured security and crowd planning.  Recognized by the Government of Maharashtra for this impactful execution, we believe that safe public spaces are key to enabling dignity, commerce, and community transformation. Eventz Genie looks forward to future collaborations that celebrate and elevate India’s grassroots talent with safety, empathy, and precision at their core.
